Managing Warehouse Areas in the Mobile App

The Warehouse module within the mobile app provides efficient tools to manage warehouse areas seamlessly. You can effortlessly add new areas, modify existing ones, set their operational status, or delete them when no longer needed. This guide walks you through all the essential functions of the Areas feature for streamlined warehouse management.

Accessing Warehouse Areas

  1. Launch the mobile app and navigate to the Warehouse module.
  2. Select the warehouse you wish to manage.
  3. Tap Areas from the menu to open the Warehouse Areas functionality.
  4. You will see a complete list of areas associated with the chosen warehouse.

Searching for an Area

To quickly locate a specific area:

  • Use the search bar to filter areas by name or number.
  • For faster results, utilize the Scanning feature:
    • Tap the Scan ⛶ icon.
    • Point your device’s camera at the barcode of the area you want to find.
    • The scanned data will automatically populate the search filter, instantly narrowing down the list.

Editing an Area

To update an existing area:

  1. Tap and hold the area you want to edit to open its details card.
  2. Make any necessary changes, such as:
    • Renaming the area (you may use the scanning option to fill in the name).
    • Changing the area’s status—for example, marking it as inactive to restrict Material Items from being moved there.
  3. Once your changes are complete, tap the Save icon to apply them.
  4. To permanently delete the area, tap the Delete icon.
  5. If you decide not to make any changes, simply tap the Cross ❌ icon to return to the previous screen.

Adding a New Area

To create a new area within the current warehouse:

  1. Tap the icon located in the top-right corner of the Areas screen.
  2. Enter a name for the new area, or use the Scan option to input the name quickly.
  3. Tap Save to add the area to the warehouse.

Viewing Material Items in an Area

To review material items stored in a particular area:

  1. Select the area from the list.
  2. You will see an inventory list of all Material Items located within that area.
  3. If the list is extensive, use search filters by name or number, or employ the Scan feature for swift navigation.
  4. Tapping on any Material Item will reveal additional details such as the Vendor and related Build Plan assignments.

Adding a New Material Item

You can also add new Material Items directly from the Material Items screen:

  1. Tap the + icon at the top-right corner.
  2. Complete the New Material Item form with the following details:
    • Material: Select the specific material identified as Customer Provided Equipment (CPE) or requiring a serial number (SN).
    • Vendor: Choose the supplier or manufacturer. Only vendors with a specified price in the Material card appear in this list.
    • Area: Pre-filled with the currently selected area. To assign a different area, clear this field and select another.
    • Build Plan (optional): Assign the Material Item to a specific Build Plan to simplify adding it to the Bill of Materials (BOM) for that plan.
    • SN (Serial Number): Input the unique serial number that identifies this item.
    • Tag # (optional): Provide an additional unique identifier if applicable.
    • Assembly # (optional): Use this to track groups of associated Material Items, if relevant.
  3. After filling out the form, tap the Add Item button to save the new Material Item.
