Excluding Build Plans from WIP Calculations

Certain Build Plans (BPs) can be excluded from Work-in-Progress (WIP) calculations, including those reflected in the Profit & Loss (P&L) and WIP Dashboard, as well as the Budget Table within each Build Plan.

Exclusion Options

Individual Build Plan: You can exclude a specific BP from WIP calculations.
Overhead Scenario Build Plans: Build Plans of Overhead Scenario are automatcally excluded from WIP calculations.
Build Plans of entire Project: Excluding a project will populate the exclusion to all BPs associated with that project from WIP calculations.

Locations of the "Exclude from WIP" Checkbox

There are three areas where the "Exclude from WIP" option is available:

Location	Effect
Project Card	Controls all Build Plans in the project. • Enabled: All BPs are excluded from WIP. – New BPs are created with the checkbox selected and locked (cannot be unchecked). – Existing BPs become excluded and locked upon saving the project. • Disabled: No forced exclusion from the project. – Does not automatically unlock or uncheck previously excluded individual BPs.
Scenario Card	“Exclude from WIP by default” – applies only to newly generated Build Plans. • New BPs inherit the checkbox state. • The checkbox remains editable in each BP. • Changing the setting does not affect already-existing BPs.
Build Plan Category	Sets default exclusion for newly generated Build Plans in that category. • New BPs inherit the checkbox state. • The checkbox remains editable in each BP. • Changing the category setting does not affect already-existing BPs.
Build Plan card	Controls only the individual Build Plan. • Can be manually checked or unchecked unless the Project has exclusion enabled (in which case it is locked).
