Cancel ITJ

Only certain stages of your ITJ can be cancelled.

  • Purchase and Transfer transaction types can be cancelled at the Pending and Approved stages.
  • Return type of ITJs are cancelled at the Pending, Approved or Executed stages.
  • While Adjustment transactions can be cancelled once they have been executed.

What happens when you cancel an ITJ:

1. You will be asked if you wish to send an email notification to the Vendor. A PO document will be attached for Purchase ITJs and an RMA for Return transactions.

2. The system will change the ITJ stage to the Canceled.

3. It will also delete the related Inventory Transaction Entries to correct the material balance.

Close Short

Just as, you can cancel a Purchase transaction at the Pending and Approved stages and no materials are entered into stock, so the Executed Purchase transaction can be short closed.

Short closing of the Purchase ITJ is similar to cancelling the ITJ: no further material transaction entries are allowed. Therefore, the received material QTY in the ITJ must be 0.

Once short closed:

1. You will also be prompted to send an email notification to the Vendor.

2. The ITJ will be moved to the Completed.

3. The associated Inventory Transaction Entries will be deleted to adjust the material balance.
