Time Cards List and Status Views

When you open a payroll period, the Time Cards tab appears with a predefined default view applied — Status View (most commonly used during payroll closure).

This view groups Time Cards by Reviewer and clearly highlights issues, including:

  • Pending TARs (Time Adjustment Requests)
  • Time Off requests
  • Time Cards missing Cost Type, Work Order allocation, or matching Payroll Item
  • Count of Time Cards in each review state (Pending → Change Time → Acknowledged → Adjusted Completed)

Quick drill-down: Click on any number in a column (e.g., the number under “Pending TARs”) to instantly display the corresponding Time Cards (in this example, all Time Cards that have pending TARs). This makes it easy to find and resolve issues without additional filtering.

The Status View helps you quickly identify and resolve problem Time Cards before closing payroll.

Note: The default view may vary between clients based on their specific preferences. For example, each row may display a set of time cards, first grouped by employee class and then by reviewer.

Since the dashboard is powered by AG Grid, you can:

  • Create and save custom views
  • Apply filters, grouping, and sorting
  • Set your preferred view as the favorite

Time Cards List (Alternative Predefined View)

Switch to the Time Cards List view to see detailed columns, including:

  • Payroll State
  • Clocked and Approved hours
  • Regular, OT, and Double Time hours
  • Assigned Reviewer
  • Reason applied
  • Adjustment applied
  • Wage Allocation Locked
  • Requests count
  • And many other fields

Date Range Slider

Use the Date Range slider at the top to filter and display only Time Cards from a specific date range within the selected payroll period.

Summary Tab

This tab provides a clear overview of Time Card hours broken down by payroll item.

  • The default view is a pivot table that groups hours by Employee, with columns showing hours for each applicable Payroll Item (e.g., Regular Pay, Overtime Rate, etc.).
  • Easily see total hours per employee and per payroll item at one glance.

Quick drill-down: Simply click on any number in the table to instantly switch to the Time Cards List tab with the data automatically filtered.

You can fully customize the layout using AG Grid features:

  • Create and save custom views
  • Rearrange, add, or remove columns
  • Apply additional grouping, filters, or aggregation to build the exact report you need.

Details Tab

The Details tab shows a comprehensive, line-by-line breakdown of every payroll allocation from all Time Cards (including both wage and non-wage items).

Key columns include:

  • Employee name
  • Time Card Date
  • Payroll Check
    Wage type
  • Cost Type
  • Cost Rates
  • Cost Rates Source
  • Assigned Work Order and Build Plan
  • WO Type
  • Service Item
  • Financial Account
  • State
  • Tax Code
  • Jurisdiction
  • And many other fields

Hours are automatically summed and grouped by Cost Type + Wage Type + Build Plan, giving you full visibility into exactly where labor costs are being allocated.

As with all tabs, you can use AG Grid capabilities to filter, sort, group, export, or create custom views tailored to your reporting needs.

Labor Cost Tab

This tab provides a complete overview of all labor costs recorded in the system for the selected payroll period.

Costs are grouped by Employee and Payroll Item, giving you a clear, consolidated view of total labor expenses (including regular, overtime, double-time, prevailing wage additives, burdens, and any other payroll items).

The Warn column alerts you when synced cost rates exist but have not been applied to the labor cost calculation

for the selected payroll period. The cost rate source is not a payroll period (external/reconciled).

Cost Rates Tab

This tab shows all cost rates that have been synced from your accounting system. Data is automatically pulled from processed payroll checks and grouped by Employee and Payroll Item for the selected payroll period.

For a detailed explanation of each column and how synced cost rates are calculated, refer to the article:

Synced Cost Rates Table in a Payroll Period.

The Warn column flags two common issues:

  • Mismatched Addition Type: Payroll item’s default is N/A, but a different addition type was applied (affects cost rate calculation).
  • Hours but no Amount: Hours exist for a payroll item, yet the monetary amount is missing or zero.

Closure Process Tab

This tab provides direct access to the Payroll Period Closure interface.

The Payroll Administrator can:

  • Create off-cycle checks
  • Complete the closure process step by step

For detailed instructions, see the separate article: Payroll Period Closure Process.

Open Related Components

Throughout the Payroll Period dashboard, most key values (Time Card dates, Employee names, Work Orders, Build Plans, etc.) are clickable hyperlinks.

Click any hyperlink to instantly open the corresponding component card.

Example – clicking a Time Card date opens the full Web Time Card, where you can:

  • Resolve pending or uncompleted requests (TARs, Time Off, etc.)
  • Create adjustments
  • View the full change history
  • See the employee’s day log on the map
  • Perform any other Time Card actions

This quick access lets you investigate and fix issues without leaving the payroll period context.
